The points have been finialized for the season. Limaland Josh placed 26th out of 54 Modifieds. He ended with 338 in points there. He didn't run all the races here, but for what he did run I think he did well. Eldora he placed 24th in points out of 51 Modifieds plus some 5 more who tied at the same points. He ended with 155 points. I think Josh has came along way from the beginning of season and he has gotten to know the tracks and how the car handles. Next year he needs to work hard on swinging the cars rearend. Hopefully he has time to play in the snow this winter, I think that will help. Periodically I will be putting little things on his site so keep checking back to see whats up with Josh. If you get a chance and see Josh or email him and tell him what you thought of his season.
Josh decided to try a new track out in Indianna at Gas City last fri. Sept.19th they headed over there. The track might be just a little smaller than Limaland. There isn't a long stretch between corners is what I think makes it a little smaller. The dirt is black and not much dust is flying, just alittle mud. There was 37 modifieds that came to race and they were only taking 21 for the feature. Josh was in the 4th heat. He started on outside pole and ended up 6th. So he had to run the b-main. He started inside 4th row and ended up finishing 8th. I give Josh credit. Going to new tracks not knowing the track or how to set car up and not knowing how the car is going to handle. He so far has done good for being the 1st year. He will be heading to Eldora fri, Oct. 3rd and 4th for the UMP Nationals. This is the last race for the season I think. I will update again after this next weekend. GOOD LUCK JOSH!!!!!!!!! Thanks to his dad and Uncle Hop who has been helping Josh in the pits. Hope to see you all fri. & sat. night.
We got to Eldora and I looked around there were a bunch of modifies. They went out for heat races. There were 4 of them. Josh got 11th. Needs to figure car out and be ready to do the b-main. They ran 2 b-mains. Took top 4 out of heats and top 3 out of b-mains. Josh ran b-main and finished 10th. Just wasnt good enough. There was 46 modifies there and only 22 got in the feature. Josh did good no damages to car which is good. He doesnt know foresure about running Eldora Oct.3rd & 4th, so I will keep you all updated on that That is the only race that is left. All the other tracks are done for the season. BIG THANKS to everyone who has came and followed Josh thru this racing season. Hope everyone enjoyed themselves while they participated in Josh's racing season. I will keep updating thru the winter on different things going on with Josh. THANKS also to the ones who helped in the pits, Josh couldn't do it with out you.
Josh worked alot on car this week trying to still figure it out. He worked on thinking thru what the car was doing. They headed to Limaland. Hot laps looked good. He started 8th in the heat and finished 6th. Of course he was shy by one. They were taking the top5. He started the b-main 6th and finished 5th. He made it to the feature. First time at Limaland. He looked much better in corners and straight aways. He ended up placing 12th. GOOD JOB JOSH. We new you could do it. Thanks to all who has been keeping track of Josh. And the ones who come out and watch him and cheered him on. Special thanks to his pit crew for doing a good job. Josh will be heading to Eldora Sunday Aug.31st. Hope to see everyone there. And wish everyone a safe and happy holiday weekend.
Rain had hit Limaland right before we got there. They had watered the track before it hit. They worked and worked on it. Then they asked for volunteers to go out and run the track in. Josh went out and tried to help out so he could race. Then they demanded all mods to go out. They left sprint cars try the track around 10:15 and they said it was pretty dangerous so they cancelled at 10:30. So Josh will be racing at Limaland on friday 8-29-08. Thanks to everyone that help cleaned the mud off of the car when he came in from running the track in. It was muddy. We gave the car 3 bathes before we started getting it ready for Waynesfield. They had worked on the track during the week, so didn't know what to expect. Josh looked good in hot laps. Was running in 3rd and a caution came out. Lost his momentum and took 6th. He then ran the b-main and he just didn't have the car set-up right and placed last. No damage to car just didn't have a good weekend of racing. He again will be at Limaland friday and also Eldora on Sun.8-31-08 and that will be all the races till Oct.3rd. He will return to Eldora then. Hope to see everyone at the races. Thanks a bunch to everyone that has been following Josh and that has been there to help him out.
